Tom Ackerman

Noted outdoorsman, television host and long-time L.L. Bean "alum," Tom Ackerman, brings a lifetime of experience to our firm. A seasoned professional, Tom's work includes 17 years with L.L. Bean, where he served as fishing & hunting product manager. He also developed one of the most successful fly-fishing schools in the country, serving many first-time fly anglers. In 1998, he formed his own company, Classic Connections, providing personalized worldwide travel and trip planning services to fly-fishing and wingshooting clients. Tom went on to host three nationally televised outdoor programs including the "flagship" of ESPN's outdoor block -- The New American Sportsman--celebrating the sporting experience with some of the biggest newsmakers of the day. From fly-fishing in New Zealand with Michael Keaton to poling the flats in Belize with Liam Neeson, to hiking the Alaska tundra in search of caribou with Hershel Walker, to bugling elk in New Mexico with Hank Williams Jr., or climbing into a duck-blind with World Series MVP, Josh Beckett.

Tom credits much of the success and happiness he's enjoyed in life to the Core Themes work he did with Ray Inglesi early in his career. It helped lay the foundation on which he built his career. Once he identified his core themes, Tom went from having a career at L.L. Bean, to having a career in the outdoor industry, to helping people enjoy the outdoors.

Tom has a natural curiosity about people and their life experiences. Tom has joined the Core Themes firm to help others discover their passion and purpose and find greater meaning and happiness in their career. When not following this passion, you will find him fishing, hiking, camping or just hanging out with family and friends.
