George Hunter

George has over 30 years of experience as a healthcare executive. He is a Maine native with a diverse background in Medical Group Management, Hospital Administration, and Human Resources. He has worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and Mid Coast Health Services in Brunswick, Maine where he served as Executive Vice President of Administration. He also has worked with Maine Medical Partners, a subsidiary of Maine Health, and most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Allegiance Health, a large regional Health System in Jackson, Michigan. He has experience in both union and nonunion environments.

George is available to provide Interim Administrative or Human Resource Leadership and the full scope of Human Resource Consulting Services. Areas of focus include crisis management and conflict resolution, H.R. Audit, Total Rewards, Leadership development and mentoring, and executive search.

He is a Senior Professional Human Resources Certification (SPHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society of Human Resource Professionals (SHRM). He received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Masters in Public Administration from the University of Maine in Orono.

George has been active in the United Way, local Chamber of Commerce, and the Library and Planning Board. He has also served as an EMT and youth sports coach.
